Robert Peck, Jr. was born and raised locally in Troy, New York.  He went to Our Lady of Victory School then on to LaSalle Institute, Fairfield University and evening classes at Hudson Valley Community College.

After school, Bob went to work for his father in 1967 shortly after his father started RF Peck Company in 1965.  At the time it was a small HVAC manufacturer’s representative firm which has grown over the years.  This was his introduction to the HVAC industry.

Bob enjoys the HVAC industry because it is constantly changing and evolving with new technology and new products.  He feels that if you are willing to grow and change with the industry there is never a dull moment.

His first involvement with ASHRAE was shortly after joining the company.  It was a great place to meet the people in the industry especially if you did not know anybody in the industry.  ASHRAE is also the primary driver of technology evolution in the HVAC industry.

Bob served on the Membership Committee and was also on a committee that started the annual golf outing that we look forward to every September.  He went through the officer chairs and became President of the chapter in 1975.  He plans to remain a local chapter member and give back to the Society and industry that has provided him the opportunity to succeed in the business.

He has a wife Luanne of 45 years, a daughter Laura and son Geoffrey along with grandchildren.  In his spare time he likes to enjoy the grandchildren playing squash and golf.  Bob heads off to Ft. Myers, Fl. In the winter to play golf and relax.

We thank Bob for his contributions to ASHRAE and the industry and especially for serving in the leadership of the chapter and setting up the initial golf outing.
