NORTHEAST CHAPTER PRESIDENT 2018-2019
Kendra was born and raised in Poland, NY a part of central New York, where she attended the local schools until graduation from high school.
After graduation she attended Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. She received a BS degree in Engineering Management before accepting a Sales Engineer position with Johnson Controls, Inc. in New York City in June of 2011. While working for Johnson Controls she started her Master's program and completed it in 2015. In September of 2014 she transferred to the Albany branch where she was employed until October 2017 when she joined PASCO where she is employed as a Sales Engineer for controls.
While in the recruitment process, Kendra was introduced to HVAC. She had formed a strong interest in environmental and energy issues while at Clarkson and Johnson Controls seemed to fit into those interests.
In 2012 one of her customers an engineer in NYC, introduced her to ASHRAE. It wasn't long before she started on the BOG with the NYC chapter and later served as the newsletter editor. After moving to Albany, Kendra accepted a position as Treasurer with the Northeast chapter of ASHRAE. She went on to serve as Vice President, President-Elect and then President for 2018-2019.
As for why she became involved in ASHRAE? She felt it was a good way to personal growth, develop leadership skills, learn from others in the industry and build her resume.
In the future, she would like to stay involved with Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA), Women in ASHRAE (WIA) and Membership Promotion development.
Kendra would like to be remembered as providing a positive experience so members would look forward to meetings as an enriching experience with good value for time and money expended.
On a personal note, Kendra is engaged to Josh and has a yellow lab called Parker. Her parents still reside in Poland, NY where she grew up.
In her spare time, she likes to snow ski, boat and attend horse racing events. She has some owner shares in hoses and likes the back stretch area atmosphere.
We wish Kendra continued success in her career in HVAC and ASHRAE.
