New York State is making progress toward its long term policy to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions from HVAC. NYSERDA has a $1,200-1,500 per ton rebate program for geothermal heat pump installations. NYPA is developing a $100 million program for geothermal on New York's campuses.
NY-GEO, in concert with NYSERDA and supported by Central Hudson and National Grid, has developed a 6 city tour this fall to provide CEU credits for architects, engineers and building owners who would like to get more in-depth knowledge of geothermal heating and cooling in preparation for the coming transition to renewable heating and cooling. The session, which will offer attendees 5 credit hours, will run from 9 AM to 3 PM and will be available in Albany, Buffalo, Farmingdale, New York City, Poughkeepsie, and Syracuse.
